WELCOME TO AAPA - Thank you for joining us this year. To get started you should ask your teachers what are the appropriate shoes and dancewear for your class. We sometimes have extra shoes for you to borrow in the meantime. Also, make sure you have a payment booklet to keep track of monthly payments and costume deposits. If you have any questions, please see Miss Pam for assistance.
OVER THE BREAK - AAPA students have been very busy this summer: entering pageants and talent shows, writing blogs, performing in stage productions, dancing for halftime shows, rehearsing for parades and creating dance programs.
DANCE TEAM - In 2012 our dance team traveled to London to perform during the 2012 Olympics. In 2016 they danced down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom and performed on a Disney World stage! In 2018 the team had the honor of dancing at Carnegie Hall! They have also performed at Hershey Park and on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Our dancers have been lucky enough to dance in the Miss America Parade for 6 years now and were even more excitedwhen our alumni Cierra Kaler-Jones was in the parade as Miss New Jersey 2014!
COMMUNITY - Avery Wythe created a special needs dance program called, Danceability to give ALL children the opportunity to express themselves through dance. All of the AAPA teachers, along with our students to serve as volunteers, helped to bring Ballet, Hip Hop, Irish and Jazz to an eager bunch of kids. Great job Avery! The studio also performs every year for the MAPS Foundation and often has the team travel to nursing homes for holiday performances.
EMAIL - News letters will be emailed every month or so and always posted on the bulletin board inside the waiting room. Most will be emailed. If you do NOT receive this in an email as well, please notify us so we can check your address. Also make sure you add email@example.com to your address book. If you do not have email, keep track with newsletters via the bulletin board or ask Miss Pam for a hard copy. It is also helpful to LIKE us on Facebook to keep up to date.
