WELCOME TO AAPA - Thank you for joining us this year. To get started you should ask your teachers what are the appropriate shoes and dancewear for your class. We sometimes have extra shoes for you to borrow in the meantime. Also, make sure you have a payment booklet to keep track of monthly payments and costume deposits. If you have any questions, please see Miss Pam for assistance.
OVER THE BREAK - AAPA students have been very busy this summer: entering pageants and talent shows, writing blogs, performing in stage productions, dancing for halftime shows, rehearsing for parades and creating dance programs.
In 2012 our dance team traveled to London to perform during the
2012 Olympics. In 2016 they danced down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom and performed on a Disney World stage! They have
also been rehearsing for the 2016 Miss America parade which is in September. The team has been lucky enough to dance in the parade since it came back to Atlantic City and was even more excited to last year when our alumni Cierra Kaler-Jones was in the parade as Miss New Jersey 2014!
Avery Wythe created a special needs dance program called, Danceability, and with the help of Miss Jenny and some AAPA dancers to serve as volunteers, she brought dance styles to girls who may not have the opportunity to learn them otherwise. It was a fun, informative program for the dozen or so dancers who learned ballet, hip hop, musical theater and jazz. Great job Avery!
